An integral part of developing social education as a discipline is the investigation of various social phenomena using the correct methodology. Social education is working hard to build a solid theoretical basis, which cannot be achieved without a great deal of research and analysis. Research is designed as both qualitative and quantitative. Data collection, analysis, and interpretation are performed using methods chosen with regards to the specifics of the phenomena being investigated. Research results are then published in journals or monographs.

Marketa is an Assistant professor at the Social Education Department at the Faculty of Education, Masaryk University. Through qualitative research, she focuses on the educational needs of students with different socio-cultural backgrounds. Based on the results, she develops training strategies to prepare teachers for culturally and diversity sensitive education in a globalized world. Her teaching experience involves intercultural and international education, sociology of post-modern education, personal development training of future teachers, and technologies in education.

American Academy in Brno

American Academy in Brno (est. 2018) is a part of American Academy Network (with other schools in Prague and Zagreb, Croatia). It's a private, US accredited school, whose curriculum has been inspired by progressive ideas from all over the world. Currently, the school is attended by more than 80 students in Grades 1 thru 12.

Charlotte Sůkalová began her professional career within communications and Graphic Design but discovered her true passion came from the teaching element of the industry by coaching interns and junior designers alike. This, combined with her passion for the English language, led Charlotte to retrain as a teacher in Britain by completing a Post Graduate Diploma of Education in Design and Technology. Charlotte now teaches Middle and High school students in the subject areas: English, Literature, Journalism and Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE) at the international school, American Academy in Brno.

Matthew Smith began his teaching career as an ESL teacher. Having taught in various countries he moved to Brno, where he extended his teaching portfolio with Social Science, English Literature, Sports Science, PE and Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE). Matt joined AAB very shortly after the school had opened and has become one of the leading professionals.

Amsterdam University of Applied Science – Center of Applied Research in Education
The Faculty of Education at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences offers a variety of Bachelor's, Master's and Associate degree programmes in the field of teacher education and pedagogics. We also offer international exchange programmes in English and various short courses in Dutch.

The multicultural and international atmosphere of Amsterdam is an integral part of teaching and learning at the Faculty of Education. The curricula at the Faculty provide both Dutch students and visiting international students with an international outlook on teaching. The Faculty has a strong focus on urban education and maintains close ties with schools and pedagogical institutions in the city of Amsterdam.

The internationalisation policy of the Faculty of Education is closely linked to its urban and multicultural profile. The Faculty seeks cooperation with European higher education institutions with a similar profile.

My passion is to connect research, education, and practice in an international context. As an international coordinator and lecturer-researcher, I aim to broaden the pedagogical horizon of my faculty, expand our network, increase international collaboration on research and practice in current themes at the intersection of educational science and pedagogy. As a lecturer and publishing researcher I share my experiences and insights into educational equality and equity, how to support inclusion in a diverse society and how enrichment programs support equal opportunities through enhancing social-emotional learning (SEL).

Age Management
It is a non-governmental non-profit organization founded in 2013 dedicated exclusively to the issue of age management. Its main goal is to support the development of the concept of age management and work ability; awareness-raising and publishing activities; bringing together experts from different fields and organizations interested in the topic of age management; methodological support; implementation of scientific projects aimed at the implementation of age management; cooperation with universities, research centers, state administration and employers and transfer of good practice not only from abroad.

Graduate of Sociology at Masaryk University in Brno. For more than 10 years she has been working in the field of adult education and project management with a focus on human resources development. She is involved in the preparation of project applications (including international cooperation), implementation of projects and trainings and participates in professional seminars and conferences focused on age management and population ageing. She is a lecturer in age management and project management. She is involved in the promotion and measurement of work ability using the Work Ability Index method in relation to the optimization of the setup of personnel processes, and is also involved in publishing activities in the field of age management. In 2019, she was certified as a WAI 2.0 Work Ability / Work Well - being (Personal & Company Radar) expert. Currently, she is the coordinator of the international Erasmus+ project "Work Ability Management" (until August 2023), which has developed methodologies to support employed and unemployed people.

Anabell Centre
For the Anabell Center, the essence of our work is to provide specialized support to individuals with eating disorders and their immediate surroundings. As a psychologist, I am part of the Social Activation Service team, where we strive to assist families with children facing mental challenges or other specific behavioral manifestations. This entails working with families from diverse backgrounds, aiding them in establishing stable family environments, and helping them integrate into everyday lives.

Hi! My name is Matěj and I have dedicated my entire professional journey to psychology and its meaningful applications. Working as a psychologist enables me to combine my two passions – continuous learning and simultaneously exploring innovative methods to aid and support my clients. In addition to my work, I channel my enthusiasm into pursuing a doctoral degree in psychology, with a specialized focus on addictions and dependencies within the online environment.

Mendelu Lifelong Learning Institute

Since 2006, the Lifelong Learning Institute has been helping students and learners of all ages to grow in their knowledge. It offers undergraduate studies in the areas of teaching and non-teaching pedagogy. Its research work is closely linked to its study programmes. It organises a number of professional, language and interest courses for students, university staff and the general public. Its Counselling and Career Centre helps students from all over Mendel University to cope with difficulties related to their studies and to start their working careers. For seniors who want to spend their time meaningfully and make new friends, it organises education in the form of the University of the Third Age. At the Intergenerational University, which we established as the first in Moravia, grandparents and their grandchildren have the opportunity to discover the secrets of the plant and animal kingdom.

She graduated in Pedagogy and Teacher Education for Secondary Schools at MUNI. She works as a university teacher and researcher at the Institute of Lifelong Learning of Mendel University in Brno. Her long-term theoretical, research and application interests include adult and senior education, intergenerational learning, work ability, age management, etc. She is the founder of the Intergenerational University of MENDELU. She has gained her professional and lecturing experience by cooperating with universities and various organizations educating adults, as well as by cooperating with the Labour Office and non-profit organizations (e.g. Age management z.s.). She worked as an expert in the projects of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs focused on senior and family issues. She is a certified lecturer of the training programme Professional Seniority and Corporate Radar, which she lectures for various target groups.

CERPEK - Competence Development Centre

CERPEK - Competence Development Centre contributes to the development of the competences of Masaryk University employees through its activities and educational offer. CERPEK's mission is to develop professional competences so that people can realise their potential, work productively and usefully, and thus contribute to the development of Masaryk University. Our focus is on the development of pedagogical competences, where we strive to ensure that all teachers at Masaryk University teach with high quality and high impact on student success, and that their teaching has a positive impact on the wellbeing of learners and themselves. It also develops competences for people management, so that heads of departments are able to use basic methods and tools of working with people, so that their teams are highly effective and team members are motivated. It also promotes personal competences so that people at Masaryk University work on self-knowledge and personal development throughout their lives.

She studied Andragogy and Social Pedagogy and Counselling at MU. Currently, she works at the Centre for Competence Development at MUNI as a lecturer, methodologist and analyst of development and education, as well as a lecturer at the Institute of Educational Sciences at MU and the Institute of Lifelong Learning at MENDELU. She is a certified lecturer of the Professional Seniority and Corporate Radar training programmes. She has gained her professional and lecturing experience in various research, development and application projects focused on age management, intergenerational learning, workplace learning and adult education. Professionally and value-wise, she is shaped by her membership in Age Management z.s. and work experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors.

Natalia Marakhovska, PhD in Educational Sciences, is an Associate Professor in the Foreign Languages Faculty at Mariupol State University, Ukraine. Throughout the academic year 2022-2023, she worked as a teacher affected by the war in Ukraine at the Faculty of Education, Masaryk University, under the programme “Masaryk Helps Ukraine”. Her research interests include self-actualisation and leadership in teacher education; inclusive teaching methodologies, especially for war-affected students and students from temporarily occupied territories; creating culturally responsive classroom environments; artful teaching and immersive art practices.

Otevřeno
Otevřeno is a movement of students, teachers and academics working together to improve education at the faculties of education in the Czech Republic. Through various projects, they seek, for example, to innovate teaching at universities, inspire further good practice and organise events for educational action.

The Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Education of Charles University
The Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Education of Charles University provides training not only for future psychologists, but also teaches psychological subjects to students of other disciplines, including teacher education students, for whom it provides courses as part of the so-called pedagogical-psychological foundation.

PhDr. Anna Frombergererová, PhD, is a psychologist, active in the Otevřeno movement, where she supports academics at faculties of education in the implementation of innovative projects within the framework of Open Call projects. At the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Education Charles University she teaches mainly future teachers. She focuses on issues of inclusive education, wellbeing, prevention of risky behaviour and other topics. He also teaches courses for the professional and public and, last but not least, he is involved in psychological counselling.

Gender Information Centre NORA, o.p.s.
Gender Information Centre Nora, o.p.s. is a Czech non-governmental non-profit organization based in Brno. The organisation bases its activities on a feminist perspective and deals with the area of gender. The organisation's activities include projects focusing on gender-sensitive education, LGBTQ+ inclusive education, projects to eliminate discrimination against ethnic minorities, projects promoting gender equality in the labour market, projects to prevent gender-based violence and gender audits of companies and public institutions.

Masaryk University - Teiresias Centre
At the Masaryk University Career Center, we are building bridges between students, employers, and the university through events, fairs, and technologies. We support and educate in the realms of career adaptability, skills, and self-development for students, alumni, and employees.

I’ve been working as a mobility coordinator for students with special needs for almost 5 years as part of the Support Centre for Students with Special Needs at Masaryk University. Over the years I’ve helped a number of students with disability travel abroad and coordinated services for incoming students with special needs (including severe disability) from abroad. I’ve also participated in several staff trainings presenting good practices of inclusive mobility at HEI.
