At the How and Why to Evaluate Employees workshop, you will gain insight into how to effectively connect the evaluation process with other phases of employee performance management and practical inspiration on how to prepare for the evaluation, conduct the evaluation interview and manage difficult situations that may be associated with the evaluation.

Contents

  • appraisal as part of the overall performance appraisal – how we communicate performance requirements, how we continuously influence performance in a managerial way, how we provide feedback and work with facts related to individual performance appraisal areas
  • motivation for appraisal on the part of appraisers and appraisees, why to appraise, possible benefits and positive effects for appraisees and appraisers, how we can achieve them, what barriers exist, how to eliminate them, how to respond to them in a managerial way
  • preparation for evaluation (evaluators, evaluation) – practical inspirations
  • actual implementation of the evaluation interview – managerial competencies necessary for conducting the evaluation interview and its principles, problems, conflicts related to the performance of the evaluation, how to prevent them, how to solve them, and can we solve them
  • working with outputs

  • You will get practical inspiration to prepare effectively for the assessment.
  • You will prepare yourself for how to conduct an evaluation interview.
  • You will learn how to work with the outputs of an evaluation interview.
  • You will learn how to deal with uncomfortable situations related to the assessment interview.

Zdeňka Brázdová is a certified lecturer and consultant in management and human resources management. She has more than 20 years of experience in management and personal development programs in various companies and institutions (including MUNI) in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He has been involved in employee evaluation as one of the key HRM processes for a long time and has a wide range of practical experience.
