Current mental health and life satisfaction findings reveal that work-life balance, inner peace, and stability are among the most critical human priorities and needs. This workshop is fully dedicated to establishing and maintaining balance and harmony in personal life, at work and in relationships with others - both in the workplace and the family. It aims to enable participants to map their current situation, become aware of the fundamental pillars of their life balance, find a way towards greater harmony between the work and personal planes and promote mental and physical balance. Through practical and interactive exercises, participants will learn simple and proven practices that are highly effective for increasing and maintaining inner balance, well-being and a positive attitude towards themselves, work, other people and life in general.

Contents

  • What matters? – Let's start with priorities.
  • The more, the better. – The risks of work overload and the illusion of multitasking.
  • Where do you find the time and energy? – Sources and leaks of time and energy. Habits and good habits.
  • Do I have to do it alone? – Developing supportive relationships and the importance of social support.
  • How do you restore overall balance? – Practical exercises to harmonize mind and body.
  • And where to go from here? – Your plan for a balanced life.

Goals

  • You will remind yourself of your values and priorities in life.
  • You will become aware of how you usually approach your work and how this affects your performance and satisfaction.
  • You will learn to tap into your resilience resources and identify risk situations and areas.
  • You will improve your time management and enhance collaboration with colleagues.
  • You will learn simple and effective techniques to promote focus and overall harmonization.
  • You will get new suggestions and guidelines for inner balance and harmony between personal and professional life.

Alena Slezáčková is an associate professor of psychology at the Institute of Medical Psychology and Ethics, Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University in Brno. Her research focuses on mental health and psychological well-being. She is a certified lecturer in resilience, founder and head of the Centre for Positive Psychology in the Czech Republic, a member of the board of the European Society of Positive Psychology (ENPP), and a member of the professional board of the Mindfulness Research and Practice Network at MU. She has participated in several domestic and international research projects and is the author of numerous publications in the field of positive psychology and health psychology. She is also a lecturer and lecturer.
