In this workshop we will explore what a lecture is, why use them and how to make them more interactive (and the students more active). We will discuss tips and tricks and approaches to getting our students‘ brains working and test how technology can help us achieve this.
The language of the workshop is English. It is aimed at non-Czech speakers as well as Czech speakers who want to spend some time in English (minimum recommended level is B2).

Nikki Fořtová is a lecturer on the MA in Teaching at Masaryk University. She is also a CELTA and Oxford Teachers Academy trainer. Her ELT research interests lie in classroom interaction, reflection, and the use of technology. Her current research explores corrective feedback by teachers at different stages in their career and in different classroom environments. Nikki enjoys playing the piano, running, and hula hooping. She isn’t very good at any of these but keeps a growth mindset about it all, so maybe one day she will be.
Působí kmenově na Pedagogické fakultě, kde se věnuje vzdělávání učitelů anglického jazyka a učitelů prvního stupně základních škol. Výzkumně ji zajímá především profesní rozvoj učitelů a jeho podpora s využitím videozáznamů výuky.
